During pregnancy and postpartum it's hard to measure out where you are at in your physical exercise routine or if it is even safe to exercise. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced athlete, it is always a good thing to ask yourself these questions (American College of Sports Medicine, 2016). See where your behavior to change is to make successful SMART (Specific measurable attainable realistic and timebound) goals through the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) of Behavior Change (Newell, Jesse, 2014). Then go and review what exercise does to benefit your health and the fetal response during maternal exercise here (ACOG, 2015).
